Marine-EO Consortium on track after the 1st Review Meeting

On the 26th of October the Marine-EO partners, together with the EC Project Officer and a panel of 3 experts, had, in Brussels, the project first review meeting.
The Project Coordinator, the Lead Procurer and WP Leaders had the opportunity to show to the EC the progress of the project and the work carried out until now.
The presentations focused mainly on the Tender process that will be launched until the end of the year.

MARINE-EO in the Copernicus Info Day

MARINE-EO project participated in the Copernicus Info Day organized on 30th of October 2017 in Veneto Region by IEST (Copernicus Relay & Academy Member) and NEREUS which had as purpose to emphasize on the European Satellite Programme activities and provide real examples of its use by Regions and Enterprises allowing best understanding by citizens, local authorities, and SMEs the benefits for humanity of Space uses, Copernicus and its Networks.

Marine-EO at the Conference On Innovation Procurement

During the Conference on Innovation Procurement, in Tallinn, Estonia, the representatives from the Marine-EO project (DGPM and FRCT) had the opportunity to share the legal and technical challenges of a PCP among similar European projects. The event also allowed to establish a more direct contact with the EAFIP initiative that may result in a future invitation of Marine-EO to share the PCP experience with other newcomers to this area.

MARINE-EO Industry Day: Open Market Consultation and Brokerage Event

This all-day event is organized by the MARINE-EO Consortium in collaboration with the European Commission in order to inform potential tenderers (industries, SMEs, start-ups, research centers, universities etc.) and end-users about the project objectives and the PCP procedure, while at the same time to broach the views of the market about the intended R&D scope.

Marine-EO: All eyes on Horizon 2020’s first Earth Observation Pre-Commercial Procurement

The 1st Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) for Earth Observation services officially started on January 1st, 2017. Comprising of 9 partners from Greece, Portugal, Spain and Norway, the Consortium within a time span of 47 months will set the processes for publishing a call for tender that will invite the EO industry to develop robust innovative solutions beyond the current state-of-the art in the fields of both (i) maritime environment monitoring and (ii) security.

Kick-off Meeting in Athens

Marine-EO official kick-off meeting took place on January 12th, 2017 at the NCSR Demokritos premises in Athens. Representatives from all the 9 partners of the Consortium participated in the discussions about the project, the tasks and the plan for a successful Pre-Commercial Procurement endeavor for Earth Observation services.
